Cada vez que voy a Mexico a fin de año, vamos una noche al Real del Monte o a El Chico a acampar. Durante la noche escuchando ese momento unico de Dogs de Pink Floyd, donde los ladridos de los perros en la cancion se revuelven con los ladridos de los perror reales en el pueblo, y es dificil distinguir cuales son cuales. Sera que los perros reales escuchan los grabados ? o sera la cerveza en el cerebro ? Pero siempre pasa...
Pero este año hubo algo mas...
La inspiración puede venir de la nada, pero yo creo que en muchos casos la inspiración utiliza ideas previas. De haber visto otras cosas, de haber escuchado algo.
Hace unos 17 años, hicimos una 'copia' de la portada de Ummagumma de Pink Floyd. 4 fotografias, 4 personas, en cada una de ellas, en posiciones distintas.
Ahora al final de 2007, esos mismos 4, tuvimos un poco de inspiracion para hacer la version 07 del mismo concepto. Con equipo distinto (una camara digital), muchos kilos mas, mismas posiciones pero ahora con cambio de punto de foco y con miradas al infinito (a la Tangerine Dream). ... un poco de copia y un poco original
Every time I go to Mexico at the end of the year, we manage to go at least one night to Real del Monte or camping to El Chico. Every time, at night, we list to Dogs by Pink Floyd. A complete unique and surreal moment, where the dogs that are barking in the song get mixed with the barking of some real dogs that live in the town, and it is very hard to distinguish recording from reality. Could it be that the real town dogs listen to the recorded ones ? Or maybe it is just the beer in our brains ? Anyway, but it always happens !
But this year there was something else...
Inspiration can come from nowhere, but I think that in many cases, it uses previous ideas. After seeing something, after having listened to something.
About 17 years ago, we did a 'copy' of the cover of Pink Floyd's Ummagumma . 4 photograps, 4 people in each photograph, in each, in different positions.
Now at the end of 2007, those same 4 guys, had a little bit of inspiration to do the 07 version of the same concept. With different equipment (a digital SLR), many extra pounds, now in the same position, but changing the focus point and depth of field, and looking towards infinity (Tangerine Dream style)... part copy, part original
